HISTORY OF SOA ESTABLISHMENT
The Saudi Orthopedic Association (SOA) was established within the College of Medicine at King Saud University on 23/4/1426 ( 31/5/2005 ) according to the Statute of the Council of Higher Education and Universities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The original concept of the SOA was to provide a scientific environment and outlet for the presentation and publication of new ideas; to provide an opportunity for workers in the field of orthopedic surgery to meet and exchange ideas regarding research, clinical problems, proposals for future progress in orthopedics and provide consultative support and collaboration with similar societies and members world-wide.
The first general assembly meeting was held in Riyadh on ( 19/1/2006 ). Nine members were elected for the first board of the SOA.
